Moradsahraei Named Caretaker Education Minister
TEHRAN -- Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi on Monday accepted the resignation of Minister of Education Yousef Nouri following the delay in the payment of teachers’ salaries, and appointed Reza Moradsahraei as the caretaker minister.
Moradsahraei, 47, holds a Ph.D. in linguistics and serves as the dean of Farhangian University.
Following the delay in the payment of the teachers’ salaries, the president ordered First Vice President Muhammad Mokher to investigate the case and deal with any probable malpractice.
The government cited no reasons when announcing Nouri’s resignation on April 3. The move followed media reports suggesting that the minister would be dismissed.
